Time Clock MTS Frequently Asked Questions

You can just download the free demo. The demo is fully functional for 30 days with the only restriction being that a watermark is printed on all reports. You can even keep using the demo after your 30 day trial period but you will only be able to have 3 employees in the software. If you’d like to try out the Multi User Time Clock MTS then you’ll also need to download the free Time Clock MTS Client Demo.

To save your company time and money and enable you, the manager, to get a better idea of your real time and attendance information.  If you use a manual time card system or a mechanical punch clock then your accountant or book-keeper will be spending 2-5 minutes per employee per week tallying these records into an Excel spreadsheet or something similar.  Even if you only have 3 employees this can still be 15 wasted minutes per week and Time Clock MTS will pay for itself in just 7 or 8 weeks in improved efficiency.  If you have 50 employees Time Clock MTS can pay for itself in just the first week.

As your employees punch in and out of Time Clock MTS that information is stored immediately for future use.  When reports are run the data they use is the most up-to-date information available so you can be assured that the reports are telling you what you need to know about your employee attendance.

The stand-alone edition can be used on one computer.  You will manage your time clock using the same computer that your employees will punch in and out from.

The Network and Network Plus Editions of Time Clock MTS allow you to have a time clock on more than one computer.  In this case you would manage your time clock from an “administrator” computer and employees would punch in and out from other “time clock client” computers.  The Network Edition of Time Clock MTS allows you to have up to 20 time clock computers.  The Network PLUS Edition allows up to 100 computers.

The software will run on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (service pack 3).  It doesn’t matter if you have the 32bit or 64bit version of Windows as it will run on both.

The Stand Alone Edition of Time Clock MTS costs $99 (US) for each computer you wish to install it on. The Network Edition costs $199 (US) and allows you to use Time Clock MTS on up to 20 computers. The Network PLUS Edition costs $399 (US) and allows you to have up to 100 time clock computers. For more information please see our Online Store.

All our software can be purchased from our online store. Payment can be made online via credit card, Paypal, or electronic transfer. We also accept Purchase Orders with payment via mail.

One you have downloaded Time Clock MTS it’s simply a matter of running the installer and following the prompts. If you have trouble installing Time Clock MTS please see our step by step installation instructions.

Time Clock MTS adds an entry you your All Programs list under the Time Clock MTS folder. Run it as normal for your version of Windows. The first time you run the software it will give you the chance to sit through a brief tutorial and create some sample data. We strongly recommend that you do this.

Yes. Time Clock MTS can generate many reports suitable for supply to your payroll department.

Time Clock MTS can automatically calculate a range of different overtime types. It allows for two overtime pay rates, two daily overtime limits, a weekly overtime limit, and 7 day overtime calculations. Calculations can be by day, by week, or both (compliant with California overtime regulations).

Yes. Time Clock MTS can display employee punch times accurate to the second or round them the nearest minute, nearest 1/10th of an hour, nearest 15 minutes, or nearest 30 minutes.

Yes. When using the employee list screen you can see at a glance who is in and out. Alternatively you can run the Employee Status report to print a list of all employees.

There’s a number of ways that Time Clock MTS can help you stop buddy punching. The first, is to define each employee with a pin require them to enter their PIN when they punch in our out. Second, you could use a webcam to capture images of your employees when they clock in or out. Or for the best security you could scan their fingerprints when they punch in or outwith a Digital Persona 4000/4500 USB finger scanner.

Yes. The keypad data entry mode of the software has been designed to be used with a touch screen. You will still need a mouse and keyboard for administrative functions.

Yes. The Employee List or the Keypad data entry modes of the software have been designed to be used with any external device that outputs data like a computer keyboard. If you have cards/codes encoded with Time Clock MTS employee badge numbers you can use these with an appropriate scanner to input data directly to the keypad screen of Time Clock MTS. You will still need a mouse and keyboard for administrative functions.

Then email Timesheets MTS Software. Much of the on-going development of Time Clock MTS is based on feedback from our users. If you’d like a custom version of Time Clock MTS for your company we can also provide customization on a fee for service basis.

Sometimes you’ll be asked to email your Time Clock MTS database to us, perhaps because you need your administrator password reset or you are having some other problem. No software is perfect and bugs will happen. If they do then please email Timesheets MTS Software. We don’t let bugs last long, and nearly all of our errors are fixed in the next software release. When an error does happen within the software you should be given an opportunity to email us the details, please do so and check the ‘Attach Log Files’ check box.
